For generations fathers and sons have visited neighborhood barbershops not only for the distinctively male haircuts and shaves, but also for the casual atmosphere in which they were able to relax and discuss the day's sports events and political topics. Many of these cultural icons have disappeared and have been replaced by trendy salons catering primarily to women.

Located in downtown Ottawa, Imperial Barber Shop carries on the tradition started by Joseph St. Louis over a century ago.

Old comfortable barber chairs are set in a decor which brings together past and present.

All regular services of a barber shop are being offered including shaving. Walk-ins or appointments are welcomed Monday to Friday.

Easy of access, the shops are situated right at the corners of Elgin & Sparks (46½ Sparks St) and Kent & Slater (275 Slater St), practically at the foot of the Parliament Buildings.
